In September 2020 Arnold Clark held a weekend sales event called Glovebox Goodies, the mechanic of the event was that any customer who bought a new car over the weekend got a free gift with their car.
I was chosen as the Web Designer responsible for any digital design work required for the event, this included an event landing page, dynamic HTML display ads and changes across the site to make users aware of the event, but the main bit of work for this project was a set of custom marketing emails.
Earlier this year I'd worked on emails for the companies 'Real Sale', this event had many waves which got sent to tens of thousands of users, this gave us a massive amount of data on how people interacted with the email design and allowed us to do a lot of testing and make changes to the template to increase the conversion and click through rate. I used my learnings from this project as a starting point and followed a similar layout, which we new had performed well before. Even with this strong starting point there were things we wanted to improve on, our main test for this campaign was to introduce a gif in our design to show the gifts on offer.
The email performed well and we learned a lot for future events.
